Week 6: Just Plants and Rants

I guess I’ve made it to the last blog post. There’s something incredibly satisfying about knowing that I’ve made it here and managed to stay semi-consistent. Have I gotten any better at drawing? No, not really. Honestly, I think I stayed about the same. If anything, I have just become more frustrated with my lack of artistic skills. My best effort rarely produced an image I thought was worth posting. As a perfectionist, it was incredibly unrewarding. However, I went into this fully aware that I would struggle. That was sort of the point, to get comfortable with ‘failing’ in a very minor sense.

I spent some time thinking about what I want to do to make this one special. I want to end on a good positive note, so I won’t be including any drawings. Instead, you’ll just receive minor rants and plants. I'd recommend checking out my previous post if you want to see what my blog ordinarily looks like.

These are my hydrangeas. They’re incredibly dramatic and resilient. At some point, I could tell them all apart just by looking at their picture. These photos are from two years ago, so I’ve forgotten which picture correlates to which individual plant.

Finally, we have my favorite Dwarf Alberta Spruces a.k.a. Martha, Sally, and Stuart. I can’t really explain it, but if plants could verbally speak, I know they’d be the most talkative. Something about their shape and the overall feeling I get from them tells me they’re gossip-y.

Endnotes: This has been an experience that I have had. I don't think if I'll miss it, but I do think I'll miss being a part of the Non-Fiction class in general. This blog will probably live online for quite a while, and maybe I'll stumble upon it and cringe at what I've written.

For the very last time,

-Safa
