Week 3: No Plants, Just Rants

I think I've been mislabeling the weeks. Oh well. Why are there no plants this week? Well, I have a bucket of solid reasons why, many of which are legitimate. I will list them here in order of importance.

  1. I was out of the country. I did not have access to my phone, consistently stable internet connection, plant pictures, white paper, pens or pencils, or anything necessary for this blog to work.

  2. I have an ungodly amount of makeup work because I missed a few weeks of school.

  3. College Applications. I don’t really think that requires any further explanation.

  4. I have Covid (for the first time). Is it my fault? Maybe partially.

  5. I have probably spent 20/48 hours listening to music since the time I have gotten back to the United States. I involuntarily gave up music for around 10 days. It made every second of those days around 18% less enjoyable.

  6. I received a definitely-not-needed confidence boost after watching the movie The Bad Guys. I hated it. It reminded me that even my worst creation will never be as awful as the absolute dumpster fire that movie was. I didn’t even watch every second of it. It was on in the background as I did something else. Every time I looked up, I was left disgusted. I’m guessing their target audience was five-year-olds with no real thoughts. I don't know why I watched it.

  7. Reading reviews for the movie The Bad Guys. They were funny. I enjoyed them. I would recommend checking them out. Only the one-star ones though. It provided a much-needed break.

  8. Mourning the dormancy of multiple of my outdoor plants. Sure, this happened a while ago, but it's still a little sad.

  9. I was reading some of our class blogs. One of my favorites was Emily's Adventures at the Asian Supermarket. So, check that out if you want.

  10. Considering you've made it this far into my rants, I think you deserve at least one plant. I won't subject you to a drawing, though.

These are roses from my grandmother's garden. I like to refer to them as The Council (capitalization necessary). Standing under them feels like receiving some form of judgement. It's the way they lean down, swaying in the wind, going side-to-side and up-and-down like nods and shakes. The picture doesn't fully capture the experience. It sort of creeps me out. But in a good way.

Endnotes: I sort of missed drawing plants. It had become part of my schedule. I will most definitely be drawing them next week. (Or, whenever I post next.)

See you next week (Or in a few days).
